Romeo is 1-9 against Dakota since April of 2018 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Tuesday. The Bulldogs will be playing at home against the Cougars at 4:30 p.m. Romeo will be looking to extend their current five-game winning streak.
If Romeo beats Dakota with seven runs on Tuesday, it's going to be the squad's new lucky number: they've won their past two matches with that exact score. The Bulldogs narrowly escaped with a victory as the team sidled past Anchor Bay 7-5.
Katie Murphy tossed a big game, striking out six batters over five innings while giving up just two earned runs off four hits (and only one walk). She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't given up more than two walks in five consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Sarah Jesperson was incredible, going a perfect 4-for-4 with one home run, four RBI, and two runs. Those four hits gave her a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Maegan Myers, who went 2-for-4 with three runs and one stolen base.
Romeo kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 13 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least eight hits in five consecutive contests.
Meanwhile, while Dakota put up some runs on Monday, the same can't be said for Utica Ford. The Cougars blew past the Falcons 10-0. Considering the Cougars have won 12 games by more than five runs this season, Monday's blowout was nothing new.
Dakota also got a great performance from Brooke Cahill as she didn't allow a single earned run over five innings pitched.
On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Kiley Phelan, who went 2-for-3 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs. Kasey Ross was another key player, going 1-for-3 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run.
Romeo's win was their fifth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 14-6. Those home victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 8.6 runs over those games. As for Dakota, they moved to 16-5 with that win, which also ended their three-game losing streak.
Dakota's hitters will have their work cut out for them on Tuesday. Romeo has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 7.4 strikeouts per game. It's a different story for Dakota, though, as they've been averaging only 3.8 strikeouts. Will Romeo keep running through batters, or will the Cougars buck the trend?
Romeo suffered a grim 12-2 defeat to Dakota in their previous matchup back in April. Will the Bulldogs have more luck at home instead of on the road? Check back here after the action for a full breakdown and analysis of the contest.
