The loss was a bit of a surprise, as the Lions came into the matchup with a sizable advantage in MaxPreps' California soccer rankings (they are ranked 331st, while the Fighting Irish are ranked 876th).

Westminster's defeat was their first in the league, dropping their league record down to 1-1-1 and their overall record down to 8-3-2. As for Kennedy, their record now sits at 8-10.

As for Kennedy, they will venture away from home to square off against Calvary Chapel at 3:00 p.m. on Friday. Kennedy is facing Calvary Chapel at the right time seeing as Calvary Chapel is stuck on a three-game losing streak.
