Soccer Recap: Crystal River Comes Up Short

Crystal River and Vanguard squared off in some playoff action on Wednesday, but Crystal River had to settle for second. They came up short against the Vanguard Knights, falling 5-0. While losing is never fun, the Pirates can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Florida soccer rankings (they are ranked 400th, while the Knights are ranked 170th).

Crystal River's defeat dropped their record down to 8-10-1. As for Vanguard, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 15-3-3.

As of now, neither Crystal River nor Vanguard have any future games scheduled.
