Saugatuck is a perfect 7-0 against Lawton since April of 2017 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Saturday. The Trailblazers are taking a road trip to face off against the Blue Devils at 10:00 a.m. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, these teams will really light up the scoreboard.

On Friday, Saugatuck earned a 14-9 victory over West Ottawa. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Trailblazers.

18 must be Lawton's lucky number: they beat Allegan with that score not once but twice on Thursday. The Blue Devils beat the Tigers by the very same score they won with in their prior game: 18-3. The Blue Devils haven't had any issues with the Tigers recently, as the game was their third consecutive win against them.

The team relied heavily on Gia Bridges, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with three stolen bases, three runs, and two RBI. Those three runs gave her a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Payton Potter, who got on base in all four of her plate appearances with four RBI and one run.

Lawton always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .833. They are 4-2 when they post an OBP of .513 or better.

Saugatuck's record now sits at 5-9. As for Lawton, their record is now 4-10.

Everything went Saugatuck's way against Lawton in their previous matchup back in April of 2023, as Saugatuck made off with an 11-0 victory. Will the Trailblazers repeat their success, or do the Blue Devils have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
