Preview: Lisbon Broncos vs. Northern Cass Jaguars
The Lisbon Broncos will head out on the road to face off against the Northern Cass Jaguars at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Lisbon is coming into the game on a six-game losing streak.
Lisbon suffered their closest loss yet this season on Monday. They fell just short of Central Cass by a score of 51-49. Lisbon has struggled against Central Cass recently, as their matchup on Monday was their seventh consecutive lost matchup.
Lisbon's loss came about despite a quality game from Kyra Haecherl, who shot 4-for-6 from long range and dropped a double-double on 23 points and 11 rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Haecherl has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Emerson Schultz, who scored four points along with seven rebounds.
Meanwhile, Northern Cass pushed their score all the way to 55 on Tuesday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They took a 63-55 hit to the loss column at the hands of Carrington. Northern Cass' defeat continues an unfortunate trend for the team, making it three in a row.
Lisbon's defeat was their third straight on the road, which bumped their record down to 3-10. As for Northern Cass, their loss dropped their record down to 9-6.
Lisbon lost to Northern Cass on the road by a decisive 62-43 margin in their previous matchup back in December of 2023. Can Lisbon avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
