Basketball Recap: Reagan County Takes a Loss

Reagan County was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their seventh straight loss. They were two points away from ending the streak, but they lost a 53-51 heartbreaker at the hands of the Ballinger Bearcats. The Owls lost against the Bearcats in their previous head to head back in February of 2020, too, but the margin this time around was much closer than the 44-17 score last time.

Reagan County's defeat dropped their record down to 8-12. As for Ballinger, they are on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six contests, which provided a nice bump to their 11-5 record this season.

Reagan County wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next match, a 43-38 loss against Alpine on the 27th. As for Ballinger, they will square off against Winters at 5:15 p.m. on Tuesday.
