Basketball Game Preview: Mendon Unity Mustangs vs. Lewistown Indians

The Mendon Unity Mustangs will head out to face off against the Lewistown Indians at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. Mendon Unity is coming into the contest on a four-game losing streak.

Mendon Unity is headed into the game out to prove that what happened against Hamilton on Thursday (when they were outscored in every quarter) was just a minor bump in the road. Mendon Unity had to suffer through a 58-29 loss at the hands of Hamilton. While losing is never fun, the Mustangs can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Illinois basketball rankings (they are ranked 338th, while the Cardinals are ranked 157th).

Meanwhile, Lewistown posted their biggest victory since December 14, 2024 on Thursday. They took their matchup with ease, bagging a 45-16 win over Astoria/VIT.

Mendon Unity's defeat dropped their record down to 9-11. As for Lewistown, their victory bumped their record up to an identical 9-11.

Mendon Unity took their win against Lewistown in their previous meeting two weeks ago by a conclusive 57-32. Will Mendon Unity repeat their success, or does Lewistown have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
