Baseball Recap: Asbury Comes Up Short

Asbury had lost seven straight on the road, but on Thursday they dropped down to 1-14 to make it eight. They lost 14-1 to the Brindlee Mountain Lions. Having soared to a lofty 13 runs in the game before, the Rams couldn't push the score so high this time.

As for Brindlee Mountain, they moved to 3-19 with that victory, which also ended their eight-game losing streak. They not only won on Thursday, but they posted their biggest win since March 24th (when they won 21-0).

For Brindlee Mountain's part, the team relied heavily on Tucker Walker, who got on base in all four of his plate appearances with four RBI, one triple, and one stolen base. Those four RBI gave Walker a new career-high. Tobi Knepper was another key player, going 2-for-3 with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI.

Looking ahead, Asbury will challenge Crossville at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. The Lions have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 15.25 runs per game on average), something the Rams will no doubt try to take advantage of. Brindlee Mountain does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
