St. Monica won the last time they faced Bishop Conaty-Loretto and things went their way on Tuesday too. The Mariners blew past the Wildcats 24-7. The result was nothing new for the Mariners, who have now won six games by six runs or more so far this season.

Bella Urbina made a splash while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, striking out seven batters over five innings while giving up three earned (and four unearned) runs off seven hits. Those hits were her first of the season. She was even better at the plate, going a perfect 4-for-4 with five RBI, two runs, and one triple. That's the most hits she has posted since back in March of 2024.

In other batting news, Savanna Hernandez was a standout: she fired off two home runs, five runs, and four RBI while going 5-for-5. Those two home runs gave her a new career-high. Katrina Olmedo was another key player, going 3-for-5 with one home run, four runs, and four RBI.

St. Monica lost a few balls and finished the game with three home runs. They are 3-1 when they post two or more home runs.

St. Monica's victory was their fifth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 8-7. The team dominated over that stretch too, winning by an average of 12.8 runs. As for Bishop Conaty-Loretto, their defeat dropped their record down to 8-8.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. St. Monica will head out to square off against Ramona Convent at 3:30 p.m. on Thursday. The Tigers will roll in looking for their fourth straight win, something the Mariners surely won't give up without a fight. As for Bishop Conaty-Loretto, they will square off against Serra at 3:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Wildcats are facing the Cavaliers at the right time seeing as the Cavaliers are stuck on a seven-game losing streak.
