Softball Game Preview: Fillmore Eagles vs. Genesee Valley Jaguars

Fillmore is 2-8 against Genesee Valley since May of 2016 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Thursday. The Eagles will face off against the Jaguars at 5:00 p.m. One thing working in Fillmore's favor is that they have posted at least ten runs in their last three matches.

Fillmore barely beat Arkport Central the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Eagles put the hurt on the Bluejays with a sharp 11-4 victory on Wednesday. The win continues a trend for the Eagles in their matchups with the Bluejays: they've now won six in a row.

The home team had won the previous three meetings between Genesee Valley and Bolivar-Richburg, and Bolivar-Richburg kept the tradition alive. The Jaguars took a 6-3 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Wolverines on Tuesday.

Genesee Valley's loss dropped their record down to 4-2. As for Fillmore, their victory bumped their record up to 5-1.

Everything went Fillmore's way against Genesee Valley when the teams last played back in May of 2024, as Fillmore made off with a 14-2 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Eagles since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
