Softball Recap: Lewis-Palmer Puts Losing Streak Behind Them

Lewis-Palmer had to endure a 17-game losing streak, but that streak is no more. They were the clear victors by an 18-4 margin over the Coronado Cougars on Tuesday. The Rangers not only won on Tuesday, but they posted their biggest win since August 23rd (when they won 18-3).

Lewis-Palmer got a massive performance out of Jaelynn Bello, who went a perfect 4-for-4 with three runs, three RBI, and one double. That's the most runs Bello has posted since back in September of 2024. Joella Streeter was another key player, going a perfect 3-for-3 with three RBI, one run, and one double.

Lewis-Palmer hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. They are 2-1 when they post two or more strikeouts.

The win was their first on the road , bumping their record up to 3-19. As for Coronado, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost five of their last six games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 8-15 record this season.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming matchups. Lewis-Palmer will square off against Discovery Canyon at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The Thunder have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 8.1 runs per game on average), something the Rangers will no doubt try to take advantage of. As for Coronado, they will take on Cheyenne Mountain at 3:30 p.m. on Thursday.
