Basketball Recap: Mascoutah Comes Up Short

Mascoutah was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their tenth straight loss. They were beaten by the Civic Memorial Eagles 61-24. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Eagles this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 61-30 back in December of 2024.

Chanell Jones and Avery Boehm certainly did their best on Monday to avoid the loss. Jones posted seven points, while Boehm had eight points and six rebounds. That's the most points Jones has posted since back in November of 2024.

Mascoutah's defeat dropped their record down to 3-23. As for Civic Memorial, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 20-6.

Mascoutah didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 52-44 loss against Althoff Catholic on the 5th. As for Civic Memorial, they have also already played their next contest, a 49-47 victory against Waterloo on the 7th.
