Basketball Recap: Sullivan East Takes a Loss

Sullivan East fought the good fight in their overtime game against Tennessee on Tuesday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell to the Tennessee Vikings 72-68. The Patriots have struggled against the Vikings recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive lost matchup.

Tennessee found their leader in sophomore Addie Wilhoit, who went 7 of 16 on her way to 25 points and four steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Wilhoit has scored all season. Chase Wolfenbarger was another key player, going 6 for 12 en route to 18 points and six assists.

Sullivan East's defeat dropped their record down to 1-14. As for Tennessee, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 10-13.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Sullivan East will challenge David Crockett at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. David Crockett will roll in looking for their seventh straight victory, something Sullivan East surely won't give up without a fight. As for Tennessee, they will face off against Elizabethton at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. Tennessee has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games.
