Basketball Game Preview: Coronado Islanders vs. Point Loma Pointers

Coronado and Point Loma are an even 5-5 against one another since February of 2017, but not for long. The Coronado Islanders will square off against the Point Loma Pointers at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Point Loma took a loss in their last matchup and will be looking to turn the tables on Coronado, who comes in off a win.

Coronado took a loss when they played away from home on Saturday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Tuesday. They snuck past Clairemont with a 73-67 victory.

Point Loma has been a dominant force so far, but they're in the middle of a mini-slump at the moment. They were a single point away from ending the streak, but they lost a 63-62 heartbreaker at the hands of Madison.

Point Loma's defeat dropped their record down to 16-4. As for Coronado, their win bumped their record up to 10-13.

Coronado and Point Loma were neck-and-neck in their previous matchup on January 10th, but Coronado came up empty-handed after a 73-72 loss. Can Coronado avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
