Baseball Recap: Timothy Christian Comes Up Short

Timothy Christian extended their losing streak (dating back to last season) to seven on Thursday, dropping their season record down to 0-6 in the process. They lost 12-2 to the Somerset Tech Jaguars. If Timothy Christian was looking for revenge after losing 7-5 to Somerset Tech when the teams met back in April of 2023, then they'll just have to keep looking.

As for Somerset Tech, they are on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five games. That's provided a massive bump to their 4-3 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 15.0 runs over those games.

For Somerset Tech's part, they let Caden Winnicki and Nicholas Raspovich run wild. Winnicki went a perfect 3-for-3 with three stolen bases, three runs, and two RBI, while Raspovich went a perfect 4-for-4 with five stolen bases and four runs. With that strong performance, Raspovich is now averaging an impressive 1.2 stolen bases per game. Alexander Morales was another key player, going 2-for-3 with two RBI, one run, and one double.

While Timothy Christian had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
