Volleyball Recap: Rocky Mount Comes Up Short

Rocky Mount extended their losing streak to nine on Thursday, dropping them down to 2-15. They lost 3-0 to the Southern Wayne Saints. The Gryphons were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Saints earlier this season, when they won 3-2.

As for Southern Wayne, with the win, they broke their four-match losing streak and moved their record to 2-15. They not only won on Thursday, but they posted their biggest win since September 19, 2024 (when they won 3-0).

Addison McPhail had a dynamite game, getting seven digs, four aces, and three blocks. The dominant performance also gave her a new career-high in assists (30).

We've got plenty of inter-conference action coming up soon. Rocky Mount will challenge rival C.B. Aycock at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Meanwhile, Southern Wayne is set to face off against their familiar foe Northern Nash at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
