Basketball Recap: Southern Guilford Takes a Loss

Southern Guilford was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They came up short against the Rockingham County Cougars, falling 80-55. While losing is never fun, the Storm can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' North Carolina basketball rankings (they are ranked 494th, while the Cougars are ranked 229th).

Southern Guilford's defeat dropped their record down to 3-13. As for Rockingham County, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 9-5.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Southern Guilford has already played their next contest (against Northeast Guilford), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. A feisty cat fight is on tap when the Rockingham County Cougars duke it out with the Dudley Panthers at 8:00 p.m. on Monday.
