Hays scored the most points they've had this season on Wednesday, but it wasn't enough. They were just a bucket shy of victory and fell 72-71 to the Rouse Raiders. The Hawks have struggled against the Raiders recently, as the game was their eighth consecutive lost matchup.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Rouse to victory, but perhaps none more so than Luke Baldwin, who almost dropped a double-double on 12 points and nine rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Amari Moore, who posted 18 points and four steals.

Hays' loss dropped their record down to 11-17. As for Rouse, they are on a roll lately: they've won 15 of their last 18 games, which provided a nice bump to their 19-9 record this season.

Hays will take on Lockhart at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Rouse, they will host Cedar Park at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. One thing working in Rouse's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last five matchups.
