Baseball Game Preview: Pleasantville Panthers vs. Walter Panas Panthers

Pleasantville will head out to take on Walter Panas at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. Pleasantville will aim to continue their three-game streak of scoring more runs each contest than the last.

On Thursday, Pleasantville didn't have quite enough to beat Hendrick Hudson and fell 8-7. The loss continues a trend for the Panthers in their meetings with the Sailors: they've now lost three in a row.

Meanwhile, Walter Panas had already won eight in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 4.9 runs) and they went ahead and made it nine on Saturday. They came within a single run of losing the streak, but they secured an 8-7 W against the Wolf Pac. Eight seems to be a good number for the Panthers as the squad scooped up a win with the same number of runs in their previous game.

Walter Panas' victory was their sixth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 11-3. The home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.5 runs on average over those games. As for Pleasantville, their defeat dropped their record down to 4-6.
