Recap: Dexter Bearcats vs. Ste. Genevieve Dragons
Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but unfortunately for the Dexter Bearcats, they weren't the ones who walked away with it. They and Ste. Genevieve were almost perfectly matched up on Friday, but Dexter suffered an agonizing 29-28 loss. Dexter has struggled against Ste. Genevieve recently, as their matchup on Friday was their fourth consecutive lost matchup.
When it comes to explaining why Dexter lost, one person who can't be blamed is Lee-michael Mcdonald. Despite the final result, he picked up 173 receiving yards and three touchdowns. Another player making a difference was Jackson Howard, who threw for 215 yards and three touchdowns.
Dexter's loss dropped their record down to 7-3. As for Ste. Genevieve, the win was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 8-4.
Dexter does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Ste. Genevieve will face off against Central at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Central has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 228 points over their last five matches.
