Baseball Recap: Brunswick Academy Has No Trouble Against Fuqua

Brunswick Academy's game last Thursday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Tuesday. They blew past the Fuqua Falcons 13-3. With that victory, the Vikings brought their scoring average up to 6.2 runs per game.

Maddox Sasser was a major factor no matter where he played. On the mound, he pitched one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. Sasser was also big at the plate, going 1-for-3 with two runs, two RBI, and one double. Those two RBI gave him a new career-high.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Nathan Talbert, who went a perfect 4-for-4 with three RBI, two doubles, and one triple. Those four hits gave him a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Nathan Wells, who went a perfect 5-for-5 with four runs, one stolen base, and two RBI.

Brunswick Academy always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .625. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Fuqua only posted an OBP of .393.

Brunswick Academy's win bumped their record up to 11-6. As for Fuqua, they have been struggling recently as they've lost nine of their last 11 contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 4-11 record this season.

Brunswick Academy will square off against Southampton Academy at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The Vikings' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Raiders have averaged an impressive 10.2 runs per game this season. Fuqua does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
