Raymond Central saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Lucas Den Hartog, who went 3-for-4 with one stolen base. Den Hartog has been hot recently, having posted at least one stolen base the last three times he's played.
Meanwhile, Malcolm got the win against Wahoo/Bishop Neumann on Monday by a conclusive 13-3. Considering the Clippers have won 13 matchups by more than six runs this season, Monday's blowout was nothing new.
Garrett England was incredible, going 2-for-3 with one home run, three runs, and three RBI. Those three runs gave him a new career-high. Brixon Meyer was another key player, going 1-for-3 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs.
Malcolm always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .526. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Wahoo/Bishop Neumann only posted an OBP of .367.
Raymond Central's loss dropped their record down to 5-11. As for Malcolm, their victory bumped their record up to 20-2.
The pitchers for both teams better look sharp on Tuesday as neither team is afraid to steal. Raymond Central has been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 4.6 stolen bases per game. However, it's not like Malcolm struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 3.3 stolen bases. The only question left is which team can snag more.
Raymond Central might still be hurting after the 9-2 defeat they got from Malcolm when the teams last played back in April of 2024. Will the Mustangs have more luck at home instead of on the road? Come back here after the game to get an analysis of the match and other baseball content.
