Basketball Recap: Marcos Carrillo's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Bible Baptist over Marquette Manor Baptist Academy

If Bible Baptist was feeling good fresh off their 66-30 takedown of Emmanuel Baptist Academy last Thursday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Bible Baptist Eagles took a 48-42 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Marquette Manor Baptist Academy Minutemen. The Eagles lost against the Minutemen in their previous head to head back in February of 2019, too, but the margin this time around was much closer than the 74-37 score last time.

Bible Baptist's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Marcos Carrillo, who posted eight points and five assists. Carrillo is also on a roll when it comes to steals, as he's now grabbed two or more in the last seven games he's played. Abraham Cruz was another key player, putting up ten points.

Marquette Manor Baptist Academy got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Ezekiel Mabus out in front who earned 17 points. Another player making a difference was Zack Csorba, who scored 14 points.

Bible Baptist's defeat dropped their record down to 7-6. As for Marquette Manor Baptist Academy, with the victory, they broke their three-game losing streak and moved their record to 7-6.

Bible Baptist will challenge Hebron Christian Academy at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for Marquette Manor Baptist Academy, they will square off against Berean Christian at 6:45 p.m. on Friday.
