Dynamic duo of Jacy Chandler and Penny Urquhart lead Littleton to victory

Recap: Littleton Lions vs. Heritage Eagles

The Littleton Lions's and the Heritage Eagles's contest on Saturday was close at halftime, but the Littleton Lions turned on the heat in the second half with 39 points. Littleton blew past Heritage 64-42. With that victory, Littleton brought their scoring average up to 50.3 points per game.

Leading Littleton to victory were Jacy Chandler and Penny Urquhart. Chandler scored 21 points along with eight rebounds and three blocks, while Urquhart dropped a double-double on 30 points and ten rebounds. That makes it nine consecutive games in which Urquhart has scored at least a third of Littleton's points. Another player making a difference was Samantha Hernandez Tobon, who scored two points along with ten rebounds and four steals.

Several Eagles players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Skylar Peterson, who scored ten points. Peterson continues to roll, besting her previous point total in each of the last three games she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Avalon Lux-offermann, who scored nine points.

Littleton's victory bumped their record up to 7-8. As for Heritage, they are on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 4-10.

Littleton will be playing in front of their home fans against Dakota Ridge at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Heritage, they will head out on the road to challenge ThunderRidge at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. ThunderRidge presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Heritage in Colorado (ThunderRidge is ranked 35th, while Heritage is ranked 171st).
