Basketball Recap: Victory Christian Academy Takes a Loss

Victory Christian Academy was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their seventh straight loss. They were beaten by the Brunswick Christian Academy Eagles 53-25. While losing is never fun, the Soldiers can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' basketball rankings in their respective home states (they are ranked 818th in Florida, while the Eagles are ranked 400th in Georgia).

When it comes to explaining why Victory Christian Academy lost, don't look at Daniil Kosolapenko. Despite the final result, he almost dropped a double-double on 15 points and nine boards. What's more, Kosolapenko also racked up two steals, the most he's had since back in January of 2024.

Brunswick Christian Academy's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Pierce Saunders, who dropped a double-double on ten points and ten steals. Saunders has been hot recently, having posted five or more steals the last four times he's played. Kameron Thomas was another key player, going 5 of 9 en route to 10 points and eight rebounds.

Victory Christian Academy's defeat dropped their record down to 1-10. As for Brunswick Christian Academy, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 11 of their last 12 games, which provided a nice bump to their 15-2 record this season.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Victory Christian Academy won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against Wayne Christian Academy at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Brunswick Christian Academy, they will also get right back to it: they'll face off against Appling Christian Academy at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Brunswick Christian Academy will be looking to extend their current ten-game winning streak.
