While Heritage Academy's win against Starkville Academy wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Patriots narrowly escaped with a victory as the squad sidled past the Volunteers 3-1. The Patriots haven't had any issues with the Volunteers recently, as the game was their seventh consecutive win against them.

Oliver Woodard tossed a big game, pitching 6.1 innings while giving up just one earned run off four hits. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in four consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Isaiah Clark was excellent, going 2-for-3 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one double. The team also got some help courtesy of Kaden Avery, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with one run and one RBI.

Heritage Academy's victory bumped their record up to 10-13-1. As for Starkville Academy, they are on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 3-7.

Heritage Academy will have a chance to go back-to-back against the Volunteers: the pair will be back at it again later today.
