Basketball Game Preview: Homewood Patriots vs. Parker Thundering Herd

Homewood and Parker are an even 5-5 against one another since January of 2018, but not for long. The Homewood Patriots will challenge the Parker Thundering Herd at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. Homewood knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 55 points or more in their past seven contests -- so hopefully Parker likes a good challenge.

Last Tuesday, Homewood humbled Altamont with a 74-26 victory. The Patriots have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won 12 matchups by 21 points or more this season.

Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Parker, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Friday. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 54-52 win over Minor on Monday.

Homewood pushed their record up to 18-10 with the victory, which was their fourth straight at home. They've dominated over that stretch too, winning by an average of 33 points. As for Parker, their win was their first in the region, bumping their region record up to 1-4 and their overall record up to 9-12.

Everything went Homewood's way against Parker in their previous meeting on Friday, as Homewood made off with a 78-57 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for Homewood since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
