Dakota Valley had already proven themselves in the regular season and they didn't miss a beat now that it's playoff time. They slipped by the West Central Trojans 53-52 on Thursday. The win was nothing new for the Panthers as they're now sitting on five straight.

Dakota Valley's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Cameryn Sommervold led the charge by going 6-for-10 en route to 15 points along with five boards and three blocks. The dominant performance also gave Sommervold a new career-high in assists (four). Aubree Worden was another key player, shooting 46% from the field to rack up 16 points and eight rebounds.

Dakota Valley pushed their record up to 21-2 with the victory, which was their fourth straight at home. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 70.0 points over those games. As for West Central, their defeat ended a four-game streak of away wins and brought them to 14-9.

Coming up, Dakota Valley will challenge Sioux Valley at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Sioux Valley will roll in looking for their ninth straight win, something Dakota Valley surely won't give up without a fight. West Central does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
