Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Dodge City). They came out on top against the South Titans by a score of 19-15 on Thursday. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 16-0 on Thursday.
Macy Musslin made a big impact while hitting and pitching. She didn't allow a single earned run while striking out seven over 5.2 innings pitched. Musslin was also stellar in the batter's box, going 3-for-6 with four RBI, two doubles, and one triple. Those two doubles gave her a new career-high.
In other batting news, Dodge City got a massive performance out of Tatum Steiner, who went 3-for-5 with one home run, five runs, and four RBI. Those five runs gave Steiner a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Kenadie Thompson, who went 4-for-6 with four runs, one triple, and one stolen base.
Dodge City was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .450. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .308 or higher in four consecutive games.
Dodge City's victory bumped their record up to 2-16. As for South, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-9.
Coincidentally, Dodge City and South will both be playing Heights the next time they take the field. The Demons will host the Falcons at 4:00 p.m. on Friday, while the Titans will host them at 5:00 p.m. on the 14th.
