Softball Recap: Bishop Ludden Comes Up Short

Bishop Ludden was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their fifth straight loss dating back to last season. They lost 19-4 to the Cato-Meridian Blue Devils. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Blue Devils this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 9-0 back in April.

Bishop Ludden's defeat dropped their record down to 0-4. As for Cato-Meridian, their victory bumped their record up to 5-2.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Bishop Ludden will venture away from home to face off against Bishop Grimes at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday. The Gaelic Knights' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Cobras have averaged an impressive 10.3 runs per game this season. As for Cato-Meridian, they will get to enjoy the win for a while: their next game is against Hannibal at 4:30 p.m. on the 12th.
