Navi Bruzon lifted Lions to new heights, now program will look to maintain its heavyweight status without him.
The high school football season in Arizona kicks off this week and MaxPreps has your look at the state's top teams. Defending Open Division state champion
Liberty (Peoria) owns the No. 1 spot in the Preseason MaxPreps Top 25.
The Lions are 32-5 over the past three seasons and will look to maintain their status as state power without quarterback Navi Bruzon, who is now at Arizona State.
Liberty should be strong on both sides of the line with
Caden Branston (6-3, 270, DL, Colorado State commit) and
Nick Spence (6-6, 280, OL, Minnesota) leading the way.
In addition to Liberty, defending AIA state champions include

Higley (Gilbert) in 5A,
Canyon del Oro (Tucson) in 4A,
Sabino (Tucson) in 3A,
