After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Calaveras, Summerville was happy to have turned things around on Tuesday. They walked away with an 8-4 victory over the Linden Lions. This was a revenge game for the Bears: when they faced off against the Lions back in March, they had to take a 18-2 defeat.

Madelyn Nikiforuk made a splash while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she tossed seven innings while giving up four earned runs off five hits. Nikiforuk was also big at the plate, going 1-for-4 with two RBI and one double.

In other batting news, Leia Flores was incredible, going 2-for-3 with two runs, one triple, and one stolen base. Madison Kaiser also deserves some recognition as she scored her first run of the season.

Summerville's record now sits at 8-11. As for Linden, they moved to 14-6 with that loss, which also ended their 12-game winning streak.

Coming up, Summerville will take on Bret Harte at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. The Bears are facing the Bullfrogs at the right time seeing as the Bullfrogs are stuck on a five-game losing streak. As for Linden, they will square off against Riverbank at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. The Lions will also cruise into their next game with the timing on their side: the Bruins will have lost 16 straight heading into Friday's contest.
