Basketball Recap: Jack Bonagura Key Part of a Team Effort in Christian Warriors Win

Walnut Grove Christian came into Tuesday's contest having lost three straight, but that streak is now in the rearview. They had just enough and edged the NorthPoint Christian Academy NightHawks out 81-78. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 89-76 two weeks ago.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Walnut Grove Christian to victory, but perhaps none more so than Jack Bonagura, who posted 26 points. Bonagura's evening made it five games in a row in which he has scored at least ten points. Another player making a difference was AJ Curerton, who earned 20 points.

NorthPoint Christian Academy's loss on Tuesday came despite strong showings from Chelan Chudgar and Gabe Spann. Chudgar went 11 of 25 on his way to 30 points and six assists, while Spann went 10 for 15 en route to 24 points and six rebounds. Chudgar continues to improve, besting his previous point total in each of the last three games he's played. Micah Enriquez was another key player, dropping a double-double on 14 points and 11 boards.

Walnut Grove Christian's win ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 11-8. As for NorthPoint Christian Academy, their loss dropped their record down to 8-8.

Coincidentally, both will both be playing Lee Park Prep the next time they take the court. Walnut Grove Christian will host Lee Park Prep at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday, while NorthPoint Christian Academy will host them at 6:30 p.m. on Monday.
