Louisville will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Mississippi Rankings (they are ranked 106th, while Leake Academy is ranked eighth).
On December 12th, Louisville was just a bucket shy of victory and fell 54-53 to Leake Central.
Leake Academy has made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won 13 matchups by 23 points or more this season. They really took it to Washington for the full four quarters, racking up a 82-16 victory on the road. Leake Academy's offense stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most points they've scored all season.
Leake Academy's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Sarah Prince led the charge by scoring ten points along with four steals. Those four steals set a new season-high mark for her. Another player making a difference was Olivia Rudolph, who scored ten points along with four steals.
Louisville has been struggling recently, as they've lost three of their last four games, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-6 record this season. As for Leake Academy, the win was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 17-3.
