Deasia Gasaway leads a balanced attack to beat Clear Springs

Recap: Clear Lake Falcons vs. Clear Springs Chargers

Even though the Clear Lake Falcons have not done well against the Clear Springs Chargers recently (they were 0-9 in their previous nine matchups), they didn't let the past get in their way on Wednesday. Clear Lake took down Clear Springs 48-29. Clear Lake didn't have much to brag about two games back, but this win makes it their second in a row.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Clear Lake to victory, but perhaps none more so than Deasia Gasaway, who scored 12 points along with seven rebounds and five steals. Gasaway is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in the last five games she's played. Another player making a difference was Jazmine Klausmeier, who dropped a double-double on 12 points and ten rebounds.

Clear Springs' loss shouldn't obscure the performances of Amirah Gray, who scored 15 points along with five rebounds, and Irelynn Segelken who scored six points. The contest was Gray's 11th in a row with at least ten points.

Clear Lake's win bumped their record up to 8-14. As for Clear Springs, they are on a eight-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 4-20.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Clear Lake will face off against Dickinson at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday. Dickinson will be looking to extend their current nine-game winning streak. As for Clear Springs, they will head out on the road to face off against Clear Creek at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday. Clear Creek presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Clear Springs in Texas (Clear Creek is ranked 300th, while Clear Springs is ranked 1055th).
