Baseball Recap: Jurupa Hills Spartans vs. Fontana Steelers
Jurupa Hills gave their fans exactly what they wanted out of a home opener on Monday. They blew past the Fontana Steelers 13-2. The victory was some much needed relief for the Spartans as it spelled an end to their six-game losing streak dating back to last season.
Alejandro Preciado made a splash no matter where he played. On the mound, he tossed five innings while giving up just one earned run off seven hits. Preciado was also stellar in the batter's box, scoring two runs and stealing a base while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances.
In other batting news, Aaden Lopez was incredible, scoring three runs and stealing a base while going 3-for-4. Another player making a difference was Gavyn Perez, who went 1-for-4 with three RBI and one triple.
