Basketball Recap: Roy Comes Up Short

Roy lost against Bountiful back in February of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Roy Royals had to suffer through a 59-23 loss at the hands of the Bountiful RedHawks. The contest marked the Royals' lowest-scoring game so far this season.

Roy's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Jerzee Hart, who posted four points along with seven boards and four blocks. Another player making a difference was Rihanna May, who earned seven points.

Milika Satuala was her usual excellent self, going 10 for 15 on her way to 22 points and three steals for Bountiful. That's the most points Satuala has posted since back in February of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Mae Johnson, who almost dropped a double-double on 11 points and nine rebounds.

Roy is on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 4-10. As for Bountiful, the victory was the sixth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 12-2.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Roy will challenge Box Elder at 5:15 p.m. on Wednesday. Roy is facing Box Elder at the right time seeing as Box Elder is stuck on a six-game losing streak. As for Bountiful, they will face off against Woods Cross at 5:15 p.m. on Wednesday. Bountiful is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 59.5 points per game this season.
