Basketball Recap: Vance County Takes a Loss

Vance County lost against South Granville last Monday and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The Vipers fell 63-58 to the Vikings. While the Vipers didn't get the win, they did start the game off strong, beating the Vikings 17-10 in the first quarter.

When it comes to explaining why Vance County lost, don't look at Damon Heggie. Despite the final result, he shot 71% from the field en route to 15 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Del'Quaveon Bullock, who posted ten points and three steals.

Vance County's loss dropped their record down to 1-6. As for South Granville, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 2-1.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming contests. Vance County will challenge Warren County at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. As for South Granville, they won't have much time to rest: their next matchup is against Eastern Alamance at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
