Cole Lucas was incredible, going a perfect 4-for-4 with one home run, four runs, and three RBI. Those four hits gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Kahne Foltz, who got on base in all four of his plate appearances with three runs and one stolen base.
Somerset always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .562. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Bellefonte only posted an OBP of .318.
Meanwhile, Mount Union owes their pitching crew a big pat on the back after their performance on Friday. They skirted past Mifflin County 2-0.
The result came thanks to Davin Yocum's shutout, as he gave up just five hits. He has been consistent for a while: he hasn't given up more than two walks in 13 consecutive appearances.
At the plate, Mount Union's victory was truly a team effort as six different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Jamon Ranck, who went 2-for-3 with two doubles and one run.
Somerset pushed their record up to 14-1 with the win, which was their seventh straight on the road dating back to last season. Those road victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 12.4 runs over those games. As for Mount Union, their win bumped their record up to 13-4.
Fans could be in store for some top-tier slugging on Monday. Somerset hasn't had any problems when it comes to power this season, having averaged 0.4 home runs per game. However, it's not like Mount Union struggles in that department as they've been averaging 0.6 home runs. With so much power on both teams, it'll be down to the pitchers to keep the mound locked down.
