Basketball Game Preview: Roscommon Bucks vs. Alcona Tigers

Two dominant guards in Keaton Pratt and Garrett Somers are getting ready to go toe-to-toe. The Roscommon Bucks will face off against the Alcona Tigers at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday. The two teams are strolling into their matches after big wins in their previous games.

Roscommon is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Monday. They claimed a resounding 64-36 victory over Tawas Area. The win continues a trend for the Bucks in their matchups with the Braves: they've now won four in a row.

Meanwhile, it was a proper cat-fight when Alcona took on Whittemore-Prescott on Thursday. Alcona really took it to Whittemore-Prescott for the full four quarters, racking up a 65-18 victory. The contest was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 34-7.

Roscommon better keep an eye on Evan Borsvold. He was instrumental in Alcona's win, almost dropping a double-double with 16 points and nine boards. What's more, Borsvold also posted a 78% shooting accuracy, which is the highest he's achieved since back in December of 2024. Another player making a difference was Ethan CruzDeVaughn, who posted ten points in addition to six rebounds and four steals.

The win made it two in a row for Alcona and bumps their season record up to 18-3. They've dominated over that stretch too, winning by an average of 39 points. As for Roscommon, their victory bumped their record up to 7-16.

Roscommon came up short against Alcona in their previous meeting two weeks ago, falling 50-42. Can Roscommon avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
