Football Recap: Guymon Comes Up Short

The matchup between Guymon and Ulysses on Saturday hardly resembled the 12-6 effort from their previous meeting. Guymon lost 50-28 to Ulysses. Guymon was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as Ulysses apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in October of 2024.

A big part of Ulysses' victory came down to the chemistry between Caden Ledesma and his top target Tyce Perez. Ledesma threw for 262 yards and three touchdowns while completing 82.8% of his passes while Perez rushed for 84 yards and a pair of TDs on only ten carries. That's the most passing touchdowns Ledesma has posted since back in September. Stryker Berglund also helped with two scores in total.

Guymon has been struggling recently as they've lost four of their last five matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 3-5 record this season. As for Ulysses, their win bumped their record up to 3-5.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Guymon will face off against Varsity Opponent at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Ulysses, they will challenge Rose Hill at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. The Tigers will need to watch out since the Rockets have now posted at least 31 points in their last five contests.
