Newsome posted their biggest win since November 22, 2024 on Wednesday. Everything went their way against the Strawberry Crest Chargers as the Newsome Wolves made off with a 57-36 victory. Given the Wolves' advantage in MaxPreps' Florida basketball rankings (they are ranked 68th, while the Chargers are ranked 431st), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Strawberry Crest lost despite a true team effort on offense, the best among them being Cameron Crowe, who went 7 of 12 on his way to 18 points and five steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Hunter Hall, who posted ten points in addition to five rebounds and three steals.

The win made it two in a row for Newsome and bumps their season record up to 15-1. As for Strawberry Crest, they dropped their record down to 6-7 with the loss, which was their third straight on the road.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Newsome will challenge Lennard at 8:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Strawberry Crest, they won't have much time to rest: their next game is against Bell Creek Academy at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. Bell Creek Academy is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 65.4 points per game this season.
