Recap: ITW David Speer Academy Pride vs. UIC College Prep Firecats
This season hasn't been kind to the ITW David Speer Academy Pride, who are still winless after their seventh game. They took a serious blow against UIC College Prep on Friday, falling 57-29. ITW David Speer Academy lost against UIC College Prep in their previous head to head back in February, too, but the margin this time around was much wider than the 64-35 score last time.
UIC College Prep's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Adam Matthews, who dropped a double-double on 13 points and 16 rebounds. Those 16 rebounds set a new season-high mark for him. Another player making a difference was Andre Boone, who scored ten points along with nine steals.
ITW David Speer Academy's loss dropped their record down to 0-7. As for UIC College Prep, they are on a roll lately: they've won six of their last eight contests, which provided a nice bump to their 7-5 record this season.
ITW David Speer Academy will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Intrinsic at 6:30 p.m. on January 16, 2024. UIC College Prep and Woodlawn will round out the year against one another at 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday at. Woodlawn is also coming in off of a big victory, so somebody is in for a big reversal of fortune.
