It's playoff time, and New Waverly had no trouble coming through when it counted. Their defense stepped up to hand the Scarborough Spartans a 1-0 shutout on Thursday. The win was nothing new for New Waverly as they're now sitting on four straight.

Their one-goal win came courtesy of Maryn Cook, who's now up to 24 this season.

New Waverly's victory bumped their record up to 13-7-1. As for Scarborough, with the defeat, they broke their 16-game winning streak and moved their record to 16-5.

Coming up, New Waverly will face off against Hardin-Jefferson at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Scarborough does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
