Basketball Game Preview: Fairfield Eagles vs. Rocky Boy Northern Stars

Fairfield is 8-2 against Rocky Boy since December of 2017 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Friday. The Fairfield Eagles will venture away from home to challenge the Rocky Boy Northern Stars. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Fairfield has 17 straight wins, Rocky Boy has four straight losses), but none of that matters once you're on the court.

Fairfield is coming in fresh off a high-stakes matchup with another one of Montana's top teams: Chinook, who was ranked 18th at the time (Fairfield was ranked tenth). Fairfield managed a 37-31 victory over Chinook on Friday.

Meanwhile, Rocky Boy ended up a good deal behind Shelby on Saturday and lost 67-50.

Fairfield's win was their seventh straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 17-0. As for Rocky Boy, their defeat dropped their record down to 4-12.

Everything came up roses for Fairfield against Rocky Boy in their previous matchup back in January, as the squad secured a 71-33 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for Fairfield since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
