Volleyball Recap: Roanoke Rapids' Luck Changes for the Better on Thursday

Roanoke Rapids took a three-set defeat the last time they faced off against American Leadership Academy-Johnston, but this time they managed to keep it close and that made all the difference. The Yellowjackets won by a set and slipped past the Patriots 3-2. The victory was some much needed relief for the Yellowjackets as it spelled an end to their seven-match losing streak.

Roanoke Rapids took American Leadership Academy-Johnston into a fifth set where they got it done with a two-point win. The final score came out to 25-15, 25-11, 22-25, 18-25, 17-15.

Roanoke Rapids' win was their first in the conference, bumping their conference record up to 1-8 and their overall record up to 5-12. As for American Leadership Academy-Johnston, they dropped their record down to 6-15 with the loss, which was their sixth straight on the road.

Coming up, Roanoke Rapids will be playing at home against Bunn at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. American Leadership Academy-Johnston does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
