Basketball Recap: North Iredell Raiders vs. Statesville Greyhounds
North Iredell was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They came up short against the Statesville Greyhounds, falling 95-69. Despite running the score up even higher than they did in their prior game last Tuesday (63), the Raiders still had to take the loss.
Statesville was led to victory by Caleb Tillman and Manuel (MJ) Gladden. Tillman went 13-for-19 on his way to 31 points and eight rebounds, while Gladden went 6-for-10 from beyond the arc en route to 30 points. The game was Tillman's third in a row with at least 15 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Paul Cauthen, who posted seven points in addition to eight assists and seven steals.
North Iredell's defeat dropped their record down to 7-15. As for Statesville, the victory (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 13-8.
North Iredell didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 61-58 loss against East Lincoln on the 11th. As for Statesville, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next matchup, a 69-63 win against St. Stephens on the 11th.
