Football Recap: Richton Rebels vs. Stringer Red Devils

Richton lost against Stringer back in November of 2020 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Rebels fell 34-30 to the Red Devils. While the Rebels had to settle for second, they closed the game well in the third quarter, where they outscored the Red Devils 12-6.

When it comes to explaining why Richton lost, don't look at B.J. Brown. Despite the final result, he rushed for 267 yards and four TDs on only 15 carries. The Rebels are 2-1 when Brown posts two or more rushing touchdowns, but 2-3 otherwise.

Jaheim Campbell was his usual excellent self, rushing for 271 yards and four scores while picking up 7.7 yards per carry for Stringer. Campbell's rushing production has been exceptional for a while as that marked his tenth straight game with at least 105 rushing yards dating back to last season. Stringer also got a significant boost from Tymiir Gordon, who ran away from the competition to the tune of 91 yards.

Richton has traveled a rocky road recently, having lost three of their last four games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 4-4 record this season. As for Stringer, their win was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 6-2.
