Basketball Game Preview: Summit Christian Academy Eagles vs. Oaktree Academy Grizzlies

Two dominant forwards in Courtland Reiter and Caleb Reeves are getting ready to go toe-to-toe. The Summit Christian Academy Eagles will venture away from home to challenge the Oaktree Academy Grizzlies at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, both will really light up the scoreboard.

Summit Christian Academy took a loss when they played away from home back in December of 2024, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Tuesday. They came out on top against Yeshivas Aish Kodesh Talmudical Academy by a score of 57-46.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Oaktree Academy). They blew past Varsity Opponent, posting a 65-23 victory. The win was some much needed relief for the Grizzlies as it spelled an end to their four-game losing streak.

Summit Christian Academy better keep an eye on Trey Mozingo. He was instrumental in Oaktree Academy's win, putting up nine points and seven steals. Quentin Rogers was another key player, posting six points and five rebounds.

Oaktree Academy smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 19 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least 13 offensive boards in five consecutive contests.

Oaktree Academy's first victory this season bumped their record up to 1-4. As for Summit Christian Academy, their win bumped their record up to 4-9.

Summit Christian Academy strolled past Oaktree Academy in their previous meeting back in December of 2024 by a score of 59-43. The rematch might be a little tougher for Summit Christian Academy since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
