San Joaquin AA league recap: 5/7/12

Joey Armstrong was on fire this week, as he led San Joaquin AA with a .667 average, three home runs and seven RBIs. Lodi compiled a record of 2-1 in that time.

After a week in which it went 2-0, Lincoln jumped from 311 to 276 in the national rankings, the biggest increase in the league.

Tracy, the league leader in stolen bases this season with 70, added to its lead in that category with 13 more steals over the past week. Given the green light by manager Vic Alkire, Tanner Turner has racked up 21 steals on his own this season for the Bulldogs.

Although Franklin gave up only eight hits last week, fewest in the league, Tracy leads the league with just 118 allowed all season.

Turner led the league with six hits this week for the Bulldogs. His 31 hits for the year are second in the league, and he boasts a .500 batting average.

The most home runs in the league this week went to Armstrong, who bashed zero for the Flames. His six home runs on the season place him at second in the league.

Louie Conti was the player of the game on May 2, 2012 with four RBIs in Lincoln's 6-5 victory over Lodi.
